Topic: 02 Events

To be held at "Family Park" this year, approx. 10 minutes from beautiful downtown Hot Springs, Arkansas, one of the premier resort towns in the Mid-South. We will meet Friday afternoon at the park for a quick get together, and then Saturday for an all day affair. More details to be announced!

Greetings Fellow '02ers:

The date of our gathering of the "'02 Faithful" is again fast approaching (May 17, 2003). This year's event will again be held at the Carlisle Import-Kit/Replicar Nationals (May 16-18), on Saturday May 17th on the showfield. We will have our own tent and designated parking area. I have requested that we again be next to the Nittany Bimmers Chapter (BMW CCA). The BMWs are going to be "there in force" this year! The Nittany Bimmers cooked lunch for us last year…a pleasant surprise!

Last year we had 75 cars show up from as far away as Kansas City. This year I have no idea how many '02s will show up at this time, but whoever comes is guaranteed one thing…having a good time. I just want to update everyone on the planned activities. Here ya go:

April 26-27

Our original plans for a spring drive was to Monterey, VA. A gorgeous area with roads build for 02s. However, the inn in Monterey does not have enough rooms to accommodate us.

Therefore, we are planning another destination on the same weekend in the same area. The destination will be close to Monterey, VA, which is in the east central part of Virginia, close to the West Virginia border. This area is near the Cass Scenic Railway, Seneca Rocks, Blackwater and Canaan Valley State Parks.

Mark your calendar.

The Chemung Canal Historic Races at Watkins Glen Racetrack will be held June 06—08, 2003.

Mid Atlantik Fest for 2003 is being planned, although not firm yet, hold May 17 for the event. It looks like Carlisle, PA was a hit last year and may be the venue for 2003.

Brian Redman hosts the Jefferson 500 Vintage Race at Summit Point Raceway in the eastern panhandle of West Virginia May 17,18, 2003.

If enough 2002 indicate an interest, a car corral and parade lap may be organized. The Sunday of this event is the day after Mid Atlantik Fest which may be in Carlisle, PA. Summit Point is a pleasant drive south of Carlisle.

Hold April 28-29 for an overnight trip to Monterey, VA. More to come!
